Eleisha is our dynamic Office Assistant! Friendly and approachable, she’s always there to help out a fellow team member whenever needed.
Background and Experience
With a longstanding background in hospitality, Eleisha brings a broad range of transferable skills that have seen her hit the ground running as our Office Assistant.
She began her career in a local restaurant and then a local club before undertaking a hospitality management course. She quickly progressed from working in a bistro to becoming a Team Leader and, ultimately a Supervisor - where she helped oversee a comprehensive renovation and rebranding project.
While she enjoyed the hospitality industry, she was seeking greater personal development and a better work-life balance so she could spend time with her son. And we’re excited to have her join the team at EDG.Space. She’s quickly adjusted to working in a brand new industry and enjoying a different rhythm that means no more weekend shifts!
Work Passions and Influences
Eleisha is passionate about making work seamless and effortless, like a duck gliding across water. She’s focused on her own professional development but also encourages the team to expand their abilities and take on new challenges. She’s got plenty of experience training young individuals in hospitality. And she’s now using those skills to help our team - helping to ease their workload so they can focus on the areas most relevant to their roles.
An expert juggler, Eleisha manages competing tasks with ease. She’s equally skilled at planning and organising the office and team, while also managing the ad-hoc and often urgent requests that come with working in the building design industry.
Eleisha's approach to her work has been significantly influenced by her previous manager, who demonstrated immense dedication and confidence in her work. She learned valuable skills, including how to handle conflict and navigate and excel in a traditionally male-dominated industry. Watching her manager, she quickly realised her potential to thrive under similar challenging circumstances.
Life Outside of Work
Outside of work, Eleisha enjoys spending time with family and friends. She loves to travel - whether it’s a day trip, an overnight getaway or an international adventure. As long as it involves delicious cuisine and exciting experiences, she’s in!
She’s also an avid horse rider and has been riding since she was a child. While she didn’t come from a "horse family," she competed successfully in show riding up to the national level, often training her own horses or riding for others. She’s thrilled to have two horses preparing for the arena next year, especially after a quieter period during the pandemic.
